Zenith Jumbo Chronograph 18k Rose 1950s

Zenith Jumbo Chronograph 18k Rose 1950s

Zenith Jumbo Chronograph Caliber 156 – Quiet Complexity from a Golden Era.

Here's a great example of how Zenith is and always has been a top Swiss manufacturer of more than only the El Primero chronographs. Our example is fitted with the highly regarded Zenith caliber 156, a chronograph movement with column wheel designed by Martel, a company that was absorbed by Zenith in 1960 and, prior to that date, provided movements to other manufacturers such as Universal Genève.

The dial— silvered, with a subtle warmth, balanced by two symmetrical registers and a sharp, outer tachymeter scale. The typography is honest. The blued hands? A splash of calm confidence. There’s no flash here, just function turned elegant.

The watch we have here is exemplary of the quality of this manufacturer. From the 18k rose gold case to the flawless silver dial and the Cal. 156 manual wound chronograph movement, this watch is truly stunning. It’s not the chronograph you see on every collector’s wrist. But it’s one that, once seen, is hard to forget—and once worn, even harder to take off.
