Universal Geneve Polerouter Tropic 1960s
Universal Genève Polerouter Tropic – 1960s
Designed for the Poles. Revered by Collectors.
The Polerouter was born in 1954 — the result of a unique collaboration between Universal Genève and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS). Designed by a young Gérald Genta, it was built to withstand the extreme magnetic fields encountered on flights over the North and South Poles.
Our example, powered by the legendary Microtor Caliber 215, captures everything that makes the Polerouter iconic: technical elegance, aviation heritage, and bold design. The dial has aged beautifully into a warm tropical brown, adding stunning depth to the crosshair layout and steel chapter ring. It’s a watch that feels alive with history.
The case has been carefully polished to original Universal Genève factory specs, preserving its sharp, sculptural lines. Altogether, this is more than just a watch — it’s a design milestone from one of horology’s greatest minds, and a standout collector’s piece.
