Our Rolex Datejust 1601 from 1969 features a rare and poetic Onyx dial — often misattributed as “Obsidian” — that has developed an extraordinary natural patina. Onyx dials were known for their sleek minimalism, but this one tells a different story: a rich black canvas crossed by a streak of lighter tone and texture that conjures imagery of a comet racing through a night sky or a celestial Milky Way. The result is a true one-of-one — no two aged Onyx dials ever patinate the same.

Crafted in 18k yellow gold, this Datejust is fitted with its original Rolex Jubilee bracelet from 1969, adding timeless refinement to this cosmic rarity. Inside beats the reliable automatic Rolex Cal. 1570, freshly serviced and ready to endure.

• in the middle if the dial from six o'clock to the center we have a beautiful patina which is reminding us on a comet that crosses the night sky or the Milky Way
• the left side of the dial from six to eleven o'clock is slightly brighter

• original Rolex 18k yellow gold Jubilee Bracelet (3/69) with some slightly stretch is fitting up to 20 cm wrist size / 2.7 mm thick
• original Rolex 18k yellow gold clasp
